What is a VESA Mount?

Apr 25, 2025

When setting up digital signage or commercial display screens, mounting plays a crucial role in both functionality and security. A VESA mount is the universal standard used to mount flat-panel screens like TVs, monitors, and commercial digital displays to wall brackets, stands, or arms.

What does VESA mean?

VESA stands for the Video Electronics Standards Association. This group developed a standardized hole pattern that allows screens and mounts to be compatible across brands. You’ll often see this referred to as the VESA pattern or VESA interface standard.

How to identify a VESA pattern

A VESA mount is measured in millimeters (mm), showing the horizontal and vertical distance between the mounting holes on the back of a screen. For example, a VESA 100x100 pattern means the holes are 100mm apart horizontally and 100mm vertically. Common patterns include 75x75, 100x100, 200x200, and larger for bigger screens.

Why VESA matters for digital displays

At in-motion.digital, we supply commercial display screens designed for high-impact visual communication. Using VESA-compliant mounts ensures easy installation, secure positioning, and flexible placement of your digital signage. Whether you’re mounting screens in retail, hospitality, or corporate environments, choosing the right VESA-compatible mount is essential for seamless integration.

InMotion don’t supply or sell VESA mounts. While our team is happy to help, it is always a good idea to double check the size compatibility of your mount, chosen display and chosen location for your display.
